Kes there is a program online that will shrink gifs but honestly I cannot remember the name of it. Or where to find it but I'll do a search and see if we can't do something... In the meantime I kinda agree with dot and we definetly need to do something. I think all these big things have to go. There are so many small little animated smileys out there and gifs that don't take up as much room as the bigger ones. Plus if you really go through all the smilesys we have there are so many that are similiar. a lot of drinking ones... a lot of rolling and laughing... like we only need one of each right?

Those bigger pictures are good for avatars, but as emoticons we should use smileys.
Is it possible to make 2 lists? For me (with DSL) it is not a problem, but what about people with slower connections. I remember waiting emoticon list to load, and closing it without choosing smiley, cause finished post. If possibility for 2 lists exist, make one with normal, small smileys, and another with everything else.

I can get through the site fairly quickly, if it's not having issues, but if I want a smiley now, I have wait for what seems like 2 min. :( Before it was almost no time at all. What gives? It should be faster now, if it works faster on Dial-up.

not to worry Alisa there are no plans to remove those. the reason the sleeping girl was removed was because of the size. it was difficult for dial-up and slower machnines to load the legend.

:tornado2: :spring: :snow: :brr: ok, i just did a quick spermint, you don't need to wait for the entire legend to load. just click on the smiles you want and close the window, then click preview. they'll appear in your post. i grabbed these from the bottom of the page, the weather section before the page was entirely loaded.

Makes it easier to access the harder named ones and skip viewing the entire smilies list (for downloading) every time you want to choose something...

so, if I don't know the smiley name code by heart (which snoozer is the little zzzzzzz vs. the pillow zzzzzzz's and bigger ones), I have a short description of it next to the code, so I can differentiate the animated from non-animated with similar names or attributes, and which eek goes to which. I also recycle the notepad file and update it, as needed.

Makes life so much simpler... ;)

Hmm maybe the library would do it. I dunno I just like being difficult. I had a printer in fact I've had two but the first one got knocked off the desk by a cat raiding party and broked. the second one just never worked right so I gave it to thunderson to work on and he never could get it to work right so he took it somewhere and sold it for like a couple dollars and since then well I just quit. I never need to print out anything anyway and son has a key so he just puts stuff on it and takes it to work and prints it out. and thats the truth!! :D
